After the devastating flood of 2016 in Baton Rouge, Troy and Kyndra packed up what was left, took a $1,200 FEMA check, and moved to Alton, Illinois to rebuild their lives.
In 2018, they started serving gumbo from their home kitchen and called it Gumbo 2 Geaux. With the support of an investor who believed in their dream, they opened their brick-and-mortar restaurant in October 2022.
Today, Kyndra, Chef Troy, Theodore, and William are proud to share the food they grew up on with their Midwest gumbo-loving community. Every dish is made fresh to order using authentic Acadian recipes, real ingredients, and SEAUX much love.

Toasted French bread piled with fried gator bites, dressed with lettuce, tomato, pickle and mayo. Served with fresh-cut seasoned wedges and remoulade.
Vanilla cake topped with strawberries, house-made banana pudding, whipped cream and house-made strawberry crunch.
